Fine Federal Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine-Front Sideboard, Southern, probably Charleston, South Carolina, circa 1800, the top with inlaid edge above a case fitted with a bow-fronted frieze drawer inlaid to simulate two short drawers, a pair of doors below, flanked by deep cupboard doors, the dies inlaid with contrasting light and dark inlaid wood panels, on bellflower-inlaid square tapering legs ending in crossbanded cuffs. Height 39 ½ in. (1 m.); length 5 ft. 11 ½ in. (1.82 m.); depth 27 in. (68.5 cm.). Provenance: Navis Antiques, Richmond, Virginia. Estimate $20,000-30,000.
