Very fine Federal inlaid mahogany serpentine-front sideboard, the oblong top with inlaid edge above an inlaid frieze drawer, two bowed cupboard doors flanking and centering two cupboard doors, the whole inlaid with quarter-round fan devices, on husk and line-inlaid square tapering legs ending in crossbanded cuffs. Brasses appear to be original.
Retains the paper label of Elbert Anderson at Maiden Lane, New York where he is recorded as having worked from 1789-1796. Elbert Anderson, New York, circa 1789-1796. Provenance: C. W. Lyon, Inc.
