Federal Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, New York or Connecticut, 17901800, the oblong top over three frieze drawers, two pairs of cupboard doors below centering bottle drawers, the oval inlaid dies on line-and bellflower-inlaid square tapering legs ending in crossbanded cuffs. H: 41 ½" (1.05 m.); L: 6' ¼" (1.83 m.); D: 28 2/3" (73 cm._) Bears an inscription in pencil on the top side of the drawer bottom of the central frieze drawer which reads in part: Nathaniel Underhill this and field $30. |
