Federal Cross-Banded Mahogany Sideboard, New York, circa 1820, the oblong top with shaped splashboard flanked by two short drawers and fitted with candleslides, above a pair of cupboard doors, centering a bowed center section with live short drawers above a pair of cupboard doors, the whole on reeded circular legs ending in brass caps. Some losses to veneer. Height 4 feet 5 inches (1.35 m.); length 6 feet 8 inches (1.98 m.); depth 28 inches (72 cm.). A nearly identical sideboard is illustrated in Berry B.
