Federal Inlaid Mahogany Sideboard, New York or Connecticut, 1790-1800, the oblong top over three frieze drawers, two pairs of cupboard doors below centering bottle drawers, the oval inlaid dies on line-and bellflower-inlaid square tapering legs ending in crossbanded cuffs. Height 41 ½ inches (1.05 m.); length 6 feet ¼ inch (1.83 m.); depth 28 ¾ inches (73 cm.) Bears the inscription in pencil on the top side of the drawer bottom of the central frieze drawer which reads in part: Nathaniel Underhill this and field $30.
