A very fine and rare Hepplewhite mahogany inlaid kidney-shaped
sideboard. The rare and desirable kidney shape of this sideboard is enhanced by beautiful
inlaid ovals and circles set into finely figured mahogany veneered panels, with the stiles
fronted by inlaid bellflowers supported by ram's head in curly satinwood backgrounds. A
rich brown patina adds to the excitement of this design and form created by a competent
cabinetmaker. Baltimore, circa 1790-1800. 38" high, 70 ½" wide, 25" deep |
