Very fine Hepplewhite inlaid mahogany D-shaped sideboard with recessed serpentine center cupboard compartment flanked by turrets; the drawers and cupboard doors with black and white line inlaid borders with cut corners; the tapered legs with a distinctive chain inlay with a crown cresting each loop and suspended from a flower. This inlay appears on a sideboard made by Aaron Chapin in 1804 for Frederick Robbins (see ANTIQUES December 1928, page 522) and supports an attribution to that maker. Attributed to Aaron Chapin, Hartford, Connecticut, circa 1790-1810.

72 1/2" long, 40 1/2" high, 26 1/2" deep.
